Why must a lift cable be flat and FRLS?
A lift cable flexes millions of times over its life and hangs in a shared shaft, so it needs a rubberised, flame-retardant low-smoke jacket and multi-strand conductors that do not fatigue. Ordinary round LAN cable is not built for this.
